In a significant development in the renewable energy sector, JA Solar, a solar module manufacturer, has commenced the supply of photovoltaic (PV) modules for the 103.5MWp Fledderbosch ground-mounted PV power plant.
This project is contracted by Ecorus, one of the Netherlands’ top three PV project contractors, and is anticipated to be completed in 2023. Located in the province of Groningen in the northeastern part of the Netherlands, the Fledderbosch project is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in February 2024. Upon its completion, it will become the second-largest ground-mounted power plant in the Netherlands.
As of the first half of 2023, JA Solar has held a notable market share of 23 percent in the Netherlands, highlighting its strong presence and influence in the Dutch solar market. The company’s commitment to quality and innovation has also been recognized through multiple accolades. JA Solar has received the prestigious “Top Brand PV” designation from EUPD in various European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, and others. This recognition reflects JA Solar’s exceptional standing in the European PV market.
JA Solar has been fostering a successful partnership with Ecorus in recent years. Their previous collaboration resulted in the construction of the 20.3MW Groetpolder riverside PV power plant project, known for its striking landscape that spans nearly 4 kilometers. Notably, this project received acclaim for its “best use of grid connection” and “best use of non-arable land,” earning Ecorus the prestigious 2022 Sustainability Award for Dutch EPC companies.
The initiation of the Fledderbosch ground-mounted PV power plant project marks the next chapter in this flourishing partnership. Both companies are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and solutions while contributing to the growth and success of the European PV market.
The Fledderbosch project not only represents a significant step toward sustainable energy generation but also strengthens the collaboration between JA Solar and Ecorus, demonstrating their commitment to the European renewable energy sector. With its expected completion in early 2024, the Fledderbosch PV power plant will contribute to the Netherlands’ renewable energy goals and further establish JA Solar’s position as a key player in the global solar industry.
