Solar installations in India are expected to double in 2015, over the previous year, reaching approximately 1,800 MW, says Mercom.
In 2014, India installed 734 MW of solar capacity, a 20 percent drop year over year, and 66 MW less than the forecast figure of 800 MW.

Solar cell and module exports from Indian manufacturers for the period of April-August 2014 totaled $89 million (approx 543 crore rupees). Solar cell and module imports for the same period totaled $247 million (approx 1,507 crore rupees).
In two recent bids, Karnataka recently selected 500 MW of PV projects in a reverse auction which saw average bids of Rs.6.95. Andhra Pradesh selected 19 projects for a total of 619 MW last month in a reverse auction, which saw the lowest bid of Rs.5.25.
