Trina Solar has signed a contract with Good Energy for the supply of a 49.9 MW utility-scale ground-mounted power project.
The plant, which was planned in January 2014 will apply Trina Solar’s high quality PV modules.
Construction will start in the third quarter of 2014 and the plant will be functional by the end of the first quarter of 2015.
If the plant is connected to national grid before the end of March 2015 it will be qualified to receive 1.4 Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) per megawatt-hour (MWh).
The project is expected to supply power to nearly 14,000 UK homes annually.
Earlier, Trina Solar has completed and grid-connected two projects that totaled up to an installed capacity of 23.8 MWp in UK.
As a growing PV market, UK offer opportunities for Trina to continue business investments. With diversified project investments in China, Europe, Japan and Middle East, company aims to achieve a goal of 400 MW to 500 MW project developments this year, said Jifan Gao, chairman, and CEO, Trina Solar.
