will supply a full suite of smart grid systems, centered around its advanced
distribution management system (ADMS) to DONG Energy, the largest power
producer in Denmark.
These applications will integrate with DONG Energy’s
existing Telvent GIS system to provide a single, powerful platform that will
support all of its business processes from planning to final delivery.
Telvent smart grid solutions
enable DONG Energy to monitor, control and improve its overall knowledge of the
state of its network. ADMS allows the utility to allocate energy across the
grid more efficiently and better integrate renewable sources of energy into the
network.
During the power outage, Telvent’s ADMS also supports
self-healing, incident-response capabilities by identifying the fault location
and automatically providing dispatchers with decision support recommendations
on how best to restore power. These expanded functions will allow DONG
Energy to reduce the number of outages, reduce incident
response time when outages do occur and ultimately increase network
reliability.

Telvent provides weather solutions to MTEMC to maximize
smart grid performance
Recently, Telvent provided its weather technology to
Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation (MTEMC) to help maximize the
utility’s ability to respond to outages efficiently and cost-effectively.
Telvent’s innovative Smart Grid Solutions technologies enable
location-specific weather data to improve outage management by quickly
identifying when and where to assemble crews for faster power restoration and
improved customer satisfaction.
