ENGIE Plans $2 bn Investment for Greening Gujarat’s Energy Landscape

ENGIE has committed to a development initiative, targeting 2.5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy projects across various locations in Gujarat, India, by the year 2030. This commitment is in addition to the ongoing development of a 400-megawatt solar project in Surendernagar.

ENGIE made the announcement during the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. ENGIE, a leading low-carbon energy generation company, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat.

Amit Jain, Country Manager of ENGIE India, stated, “This cooperation underscores our commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions.”

The MoU signifies an impressive investment of Rs 17,200 crore, accompanied by the creation of 14,000 new jobs, showcasing ENGIE India’s commitment to contributing to the region’s socio-economic development.
