Bess Power Corporation (BESS Power) has initiated the Full Interconnect Study (FIS) for the Lund Storage project in collaboration with the Texas independent system operator, Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), and the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA).

The Lund Storage project, located in Travis County, Texas, is one of the largest utility-scale energy storage projects in the state, with an import/export capacity of 407.55 MW.

BESS Power Corporation is jointly owned by Redelfi, a company listed on Euronext Milan, Altea Green Power, and the U.S.-based developer Elio Energy Group. The company acquired the US-registered special purpose vehicle (SPV) Lund Storage Center 1 earlier in the year. The Lund Storage project is the first venture in BESS Power’s growing portfolio.

Philip Herman, the Chief Operating Officer of BESS Power, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Lund Storage project, highlighting the company’s focus on developing high-quality projects in the renewable energy sector. He emphasized the importance of energy storage in the transmission system, not only in ERCOT but also across the United States.

Moving forward, the Lund Storage project will proceed with the Full Interconnect Study, aiming for commercial operations to commence in 2026. This milestone contributes to BESS Power’s overarching objective of developing over 2 GW of stand-alone storage projects throughout the United States.
