BHEL signs contract with Adani Energy subsidiary to develop 6,000 MW HVDC terminals
BHEL has signed a contract with a subsidiary of Adani Energy to develop 6,000 MW high-voltage direct current (HVDC) terminals to transmit renewable energy from Bhadla, Rajasthan to Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Reliance Industries starts Compressed Bio-Gas plant in Andhra Pradesh
Reliance Industries has started its first CBG (Compressed Bio-Gas) plant in Andhra Pradesh, which is part of a Rs 65,000 crore project to produce 40 lakh tonne of green CBG and 1.1 million metric tonnes of organic fertiliser annually.
Swaraj Tractors and Mahindra Susten Partner for Punjab’s Largest Solar Group Captive Project
Swaraj Tractors, a division of the Mahindra Group, has partnered with Mahindra Susten to develop a 26 MW solar energy installation in Bathinda district, Punjab. This project aims to increase Swaraj Tractors’ renewable energy usage to 50 percent. The solar installation will supply clean energy to four manufacturing facilities in Mohali and DeraBassi, generating approximately 60 million kWh annually and reducing around 54,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
NHPC Begins 600 MW Commercial Supply from Parbati-II Project
NHPC, a state-owned enterprise, has commenced commercial supply of 600 MW of electricity from three units of the Parbati-II hydroelectric project in Himachal Pradesh, effective April 1, 2025. The Parbati-II project comprises four units, each with a capacity of 200 MW. The commercial operation date for the fourth unit will be announced in due course. This project is designed to harness the hydroelectric potential of the lower reaches of the Parbati River.
Hindustan Power Secures 425 MW Solar Project from UPPCL
Hindustan Power has secured a 425 MW solar project from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). UPPCL issued the Letter of Award following a competitive e-reverse auction. Under the power purchase agreement, UPPCL will procure electricity from this project at a fixed tariff over 25 years. The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months of signing the agreement. Hindustan Power aims to build a renewable energy portfolio of 5 GW by 2028.
