GiveGab qualifies for SXSW Eco’s Startup Showcase

GiveGab, the giving network, was qualified as a semi-finalist in the Social Impact: For-profit category for SXSW Eco’s entrepreneurial pitch competition, the Startup Showcase, which will be held on October 6-7, 2014 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX.

The Startup Showcase, entering successively into third year, is a rapid-fire field competition highlighting start-up companies in greentech, cleanweb and social impact segments.

In the past two years, the companies have risen over $27M in funding, securing global brands as clients.

The host for the Social Impact category will be William McNulty, cofounder, Team Rubicon, a Finalist in 2013 Startup Showcase.

Finalists were designated from hundreds of applicants around the world and will compete at SXSW Eco in front of a live audience and panel of Judges.

The audience as well as judges will comprise of an invited team from companies like Target, Shell Technology, Whole Planet Foundation, New Enterprise and Sprint.

Judges will include Courtney Bickert (United Nations Foundation); Carey Meyers (The Rockefeller Foundation); Steve Wanta (Whole Planet Foundation); Cody Nystrom (SJF Ventures); Gene Han (Target).

A presentation on how GiveGab allows organizations and individuals to join a vibrant giving network, share their time and talent, and tell their social good stories to the world will be the focus of the Showcase, said, Charlie Mulligan, CEO, GiveGab.

Each year, companies that offer innovative new solutions to social and environmental challenges are spotlighted. This year’s finalists are expected to take the stage, explaining the change they plan to execute in future, said Carolyn Harrold, SXSW Eco Startup Programming Producer.
