Eco-Shift Power Corp, an energy management firm in Canada, has been selected by Cott Beverages Canada, to retrofit one of Cott’s production facilities in Mississauga, Ontario.

The contract includes full LED retrofit/upgrade for a 220,000 sq. ft. facility that covers Cott’s production plant, warehouses, storage space, office spacing, parking, and other external lighting.

The use of ECOP’s NetZero LED fixtures for Warehouse, Office and Outdoor applications is expected to bring over $170,000/year savings (over 60 percent) to Cott, according to officials.

The annual energy reduction is forecasted to be 1,027,364.72 kWh, translating to cost savings of over $170,000/year. The project has an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of approximately 99.9%, officials added.

The contract also includes integrating a comprehensive light management system into all NetZero LED High-bays located in warehouse and production areas.

The retrofitting and upgrade can eliminate an estimated 708 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere; the equivalent to annual greenhouse gas emissions of 149 passenger vehicles, 254 tons of waste sent to the landfill or CO2 emissions from 760,924 pounds of coal burned.

“With the idea of a smart grid becoming more predominant, more clients are starting to understand the importance of completing building upgrades with a smart building control component,” said ECOP’s CFO Jim Hughes.

Recently Eco-Shift Power also signed an agreement with Davison Product Group (DPG), a global distribution company, to distribute 600,000 NetZero LED units in the next three years into the North American market.
