Vestas Wins 306 MW of New US Wind Turbine Orders
Vestas has secured new turbine orders totaling 306 MW for undisclosed wind projects in the United States, adding to the Danish manufacturer’s growing North American order backlog. Although project developers and locations were not disclosed, the contracts represent another significant tranche of equipment demand as U.S. developers continue advancing utility-scale wind capacity. The orders are particularly important for Vestas as turbine manufacturers seek to rebuild volumes following several years of supply-chain pressures, inflation and higher project costs. The U.S. remains one of Vestas’ largest markets, supported by federal clean-energy incentives and growing electricity demand from data centers, manufacturing and electrification. The 306 MW package will contribute additional manufacturing, installation and service activity as the projects progress toward construction.
P2X Solutions Signs Finnish E-Methane Offtake Deal With avanca Energy
Finnish renewable-fuels producer P2X Solutions has signed an e-methane offtake agreement with avanca Energy, avanca Renewables and Alternoil, strengthening the commercial route to market for synthetic renewable gas. The companies did not disclose the contracted volume or financial value. P2X Solutions is developing Power-to-X production based on renewable electricity and green hydrogen, while avanca operates a European renewable LNG platform serving transport and industrial customers. E-methane can be produced by combining renewable hydrogen with captured carbon dioxide and can be transported through existing gas infrastructure. The agreement provides P2X Solutions with an additional customer channel while helping avanca expand its supply of low-carbon gaseous fuels for sectors where direct electrification remains difficult, including heavy road transport and industry.
Enel Starts 100 MW Finis Terrae Battery Project in Chile Enel Green Power Chile has started construction of a 100 MW battery energy storage system at its operating Finis Terrae solar complex in Chile’s Antofagasta region. The project will transform the site into a hybrid solar-and-storage facility capable of storing renewable electricity and dispatching it when grid conditions are more favorable. Enel estimates annual stored energy at around 168 GWh, equivalent to roughly 12 percent of the energy stored in the Pangue hydroelectric reservoir. The BESS will also test grid-forming inverter technology, helping maintain system voltage and frequency. Including Finis Terrae and other operating or planned projects such as Las Salinas and Azabache, Enel’s Chilean storage portfolio now exceeds 730 MW, strengthening renewable integration and reducing curtailment.
