The projects highlight innovation in energy storage deployment and support Ontario’s clean energy transition. Benefits include enhanced grid stability, peak load management, and contribution toward decarbonisation targets, strengthening Capital Power’s role in Canada’s evolving sustainable energy landscape.

ZX Lidars’ ZX 300e Sets New Benchmark with Industry-First 21–200 m IEC Classification and Reliable Wind Data Up to 300 m

ZX Lidars has launched the ZX 300e, achieving the world’s first 21–200 m IEC Classification at independent test sites, with 0 percent standard uncertainty across all heights. Exceeding IEC 61400-50-2 standards, the ZX 300e validates its reliability for wind resource assessment, site calibration, and power curve measurements. Building on 15 years of 300-series Lidar evolution, the ZX 300e introduces advanced Continuous Wave algorithms for enhanced wind accuracy, wind direction sensing, turbulence intensity measurement, and high data availability, all with reduced 44W power consumption. Its secure web-based interface enables local and remote multi-user access. A fleet of ZX 300e units using ‘Midar’ technology demonstrated unprecedented low-uncertainty measurements up to 300 m, with correlation slopes within ±1–1.1 percent, R² above 0.985, and data availability consistently exceeding 94 percent, marking the first independent confirmation of a ground-based Lidar delivering reliable data at such heights.
