FRV Australia and Genesis Energy have officially commissioned the Lauriston Solar Farm, New Zealand’s largest solar photovoltaic facility to date. Located on a 93-hectare site in Canterbury, the plant has a capacity of 47 MW AC (63 MW DC) and is expected to generate approximately 97 GWh annually, supplying power to nearly 13,000 homes. The NZ$104 million project features over 90,000 solar panels and supports ongoing sheep grazing through agrivoltaic practices. A 10-year power purchase agreement with Genesis Energy secures the plant’s output, contributing to the company’s goal of achieving 95 percent renewable generation by 2035.

Verbund and Trina Solar Forge Partnership for Solar Module Supply

Developed by AM Green Energy, this $0.7 billion project will help reduce AMNS India’s carbon emissions by 1.5 million tonnes annually. The initiative aligns with AMNS India’s goal to cut the CO₂ intensity of steel production by 20 percent by 2030, compared to 2021 levels. The project, completed in 18 months, enhances AMNS India’s energy security while supporting its decarbonization efforts.
