Invinity Energy Systems Selected for 1.5GWh Swiss Energy Storage Project

Invinity Energy Systems has been selected to supply vanadium flow battery technology for a major 1.5GWh energy storage project in Switzerland, marking one of Europe’s largest planned long-duration battery storage developments. The project highlights growing investment in advanced energy storage solutions designed to support renewable energy integration, grid stability, and long-duration electricity supply. The project will deploy Invinity’s next-generation vanadium flow battery systems, which offer enhanced safety, long operational life, and the ability to provide extended energy discharge compared to conventional lithium-ion technologies. The innovation is expected to improve renewable power reliability while supporting Switzerland’s clean energy and decarbonisation goals. The investment reflects increasing demand for scalable and sustainable long-duration storage infrastructure across Europe. Invinity emphasized that vanadium flow technology enables flexible energy management, lower lifecycle costs, and improved operational resilience. The customer-focused initiative also supports energy security, renewable energy optimisation, and the transition toward a more reliable and low-carbon electricity system.

Sungrow Selected for Gigawatt-Scale Solar and Storage Project in Abu Dhabi

Sungrow has been selected to supply advanced solar inverter and battery energy storage technologies for a gigawatt-scale renewable energy project in Abu Dhabi, strengthening the UAE’s clean energy transition and grid reliability goals. The project, developed alongside Masdar and Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), combines 5.2GW of solar PV capacity with a massive 19GWh battery energy storage system to deliver round-the-clock renewable electricity.  Under the agreement, Sungrow will supply 7.5GWh of PowerTitan 3.0 energy storage systems and 2.6GW of PV inverter solutions. The project highlights innovation in liquid-cooled battery storage, grid-forming technology, and high-efficiency power conversion systems designed for extreme desert climates.  The investment will enhance grid stability, support industrial and residential clean power demand, and accelerate Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy leadership. The customer-focused initiative also strengthens long-term energy security, sustainability, and reliable low-carbon electricity supply across the UAE.

Gridwiz and LKA Developments Plan 100MWh Battery Rollout in Australia

Gridwiz and LKA Developments have signed a strategic agreement to jointly develop a 100MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio in Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM). The initial rollout includes five 20MWh battery sites, with long-term plans to expand the partnership to more than 1GWh of storage capacity.  The investment highlights innovation in AI-based battery optimisation, demand response integration, and smart energy trading technologies. Gridwiz will provide advanced energy management systems, trading expertise, and financing support, while LKAD will oversee project development, permitting, EPC management, and operations.  The projects are expected to improve grid stability, renewable energy integration, and energy flexibility across Australia’s rapidly growing storage market. A pilot 20MWh project is already underway with commercial operations targeted for 2027. The customer-focused partnership also supports scalable clean energy infrastructure, operational efficiency, and long-term energy resilience in Australia.
