India’s consumer affairs secretary has revealed that the Bureau of Indian Standards will investigate Ola Electric over service and product standards. This follows a high volume of complaints against the company, Reuters news report said.
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) received around 10,000 complaints regarding Ola Electric, prompting an official notice to the company in October.
Ola, the #1 electric scooter brand in India, claims to have resolved 99.1 percent of the complaints, which it says largely involved minor issues, such as loose parts or customers’ unfamiliarity with software.
The complaints and regulatory attention have created challenges for Ola Electric after its strong market debut in August.
