China Energy Engineering Opens 15 GW Solar Module Procurement
China Energy Engineering Corporation has launched a centralised procurement tender for an estimated 15 GWp of photovoltaic modules for its 2026 project programme. The huge purchasing exercise provides another indicator of the scale at which Chinese energy groups are deploying solar capacity and procuring equipment. Centralised tenders aggregate module requirements across multiple projects, enabling large developers to negotiate supply terms and standardise equipment procurement. A 15 GW order programme is equivalent to the annual solar installations of many national markets and will represent a significant source of demand for module manufacturers selected through the process. The tender comes as Chinese manufacturers continue competing aggressively on efficiency, technology, scale and pricing.
Ocean Winds Starts Building O&M Base for 390 MW BC-Wind Offshore Project in Poland
Ocean Winds, the offshore-wind joint venture between EDPR and Engie, has started construction of the operations and maintenance base serving its 390 MW BC-Wind project in the Polish Baltic Sea. The facility will provide the long-term operational hub for technicians, spare parts, vessel coordination and turbine maintenance once the wind farm enters service. Starting construction of permanent O&M infrastructure represents another physical execution milestone for BC-Wind. Poland is developing a substantial Baltic offshore-wind pipeline as it seeks to diversify away from coal-fired generation. The 390 MW development will therefore contribute both renewable electricity and permanent offshore-wind operating infrastructure to Poland’s emerging Baltic supply chain.
Poland Approves Final 400 kV Transmission Section for Baltic Offshore Wind
Polish transmission-system operator PSE has secured the building permit for the final section of the 400 kV Choczewo–Gdansk Przyjazn transmission line, completing an important permitting stage for infrastructure that will carry Baltic offshore-wind electricity into Poland’s power system. The high-voltage project is divided into two sections and is specifically intended to evacuate power from new offshore wind farms being developed in the Baltic Sea. Grid infrastructure is a critical constraint on offshore deployment because turbines cannot begin full commercial operation without adequate transmission capacity to deliver electricity inland. The permit advances Poland’s supporting grid programme alongside construction and procurement activity at the country’s first large offshore-wind projects.
Skyborn and InCommodities Sign PPA for 110.7 MW Nordergründe Offshore Wind Farm
Skyborn Renewables and InCommodities Asset Management have signed an agreement covering the output and Guarantees of Origin from the 110.7 MW Nordergründe offshore wind farm in Germany’s North Sea. The transaction creates a new route to market for electricity generated by the operating project. Nordergründe’s contracted capacity totals approximately 111 MW, giving InCommodities access to a sizeable block of offshore renewable production. PPAs for operating wind assets can provide greater revenue visibility while allowing power traders and corporate customers to secure renewable electricity and environmental attributes. The agreement is separate from the recently delivered Borkum Riffgrund 3 commissioning and represents a fresh commercial milestone for another German offshore-wind asset.
