ClearPower Plans $35 Million, 20 MW Hydropower Project on Peru’s Tinajones Water Network
ClearPower Global has received authorisation from Peru’s Olmos Tinajones Special Project to develop approximately 20 MW of hydropower capacity within the existing Tinajones water system. ClearPower plans to invest $35 million, installing modular turbines at suitable elevation drops without disrupting agricultural and community water deliveries. Initial installations could produce as much as 184 GWh of renewable electricity annually. The arrangement includes a 30-year concession, after which the infrastructure will revert to PEOT. ClearPower will pay the operator at least PEN 1.5 million, more than $444,000, annually from electricity generation. PEOT has also identified opportunities for additional capacity beyond the initial 20 MW development.
2G Energy Wins 275 MW Energy Vault Order for US AI Power and Battery Infrastructure
2G Energy has secured a 275 MW order from Energy Vault for modular generation systems supporting Energy Vault’s US powered-land and powered-shell infrastructure for AI data centres. Deliveries are scheduled between Q4 2027 and Q3 2028. The containerised systems will operate alongside battery energy storage and VaultOS energy-management software, coordinating generation and storage in real time for hyperscale computing loads. Equipment will be assembled and tested at 2G’s Heek, Germany factory before shipment. The contract includes long-term servicing. 2G is expanding Heek production, with another manufacturing site scheduled for completion by end-2027.
SANY Renewable Energy International Orders Approach 5 GW as Overseas Revenue Jumps Over 300%
SANY Renewable Energy reported that its overseas revenue increased more than 300% in the first half of 2026, while signed international wind-turbine orders approached 5 GW. The figures were disclosed during WindEnergy Hamburg 2026 as SANY expands outside China. The company is pursuing European certification and localisation to increase the bankability of its turbines in international projects. The near-5 GW order book represents a substantial commercial deployment pipeline rather than a prototype announcement, while the triple-digit overseas revenue increase indicates accelerating delivery into international markets. SANY is targeting additional wind opportunities across Europe and other regions as developers seek alternative turbine suppliers and larger onshore machines.
PG&E and GM Energy Launch EV Smart-Charging Bundle with $15 Monthly Customer Credits
Pacific Gas and Electric Company and General Motors’ GM Energy have launched a Smart Charge Bundle for customers buying or leasing new Chevrolet, GMC or Cadillac electric vehicles in Northern and Central California. Eligible customers receive a home EV charger at no additional cost plus $15 in monthly PG&E bill credits after installation. The programme integrates EV charging with utility incentives and is offered directly through participating dealerships, reducing the number of separate steps normally required to install residential charging infrastructure. The initiative is relevant to distributed clean-energy infrastructure because managed charging can shift EV electricity consumption toward lower-demand periods and improve utilisation of existing grid capacity.
