Energiequelle Sells French Business and 500 MW Wind-Solar Pipeline to H2air
German renewable developer Energiequelle has sold its French subsidiary Energiequelle SAS to French renewable-energy company H2air. The transaction transfers a 500 MW pipeline of wind and solar projects along with Energiequelle’s French development organisation. The acquisition gives H2air a sizeable portfolio of projects at different development stages and strengthens its position in its home market. For Energiequelle, the disposal represents a strategic portfolio transaction rather than the sale of an individual operating project. The 500 MW development pipeline is the central asset being transferred and could ultimately translate into significant new renewable generation if projects progress through permitting, financing and construction. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Green Flexibility Plans Six German Batteries Totalling 120 MW / 480 MWh
Green Flexibility will develop six grid-neutral battery storage systems totalling 120 MW/480 MWh in Lower Saxony, Germany. The portfolio provides four hours of storage at full rated output and is designed to add flexibility without increasing peak stress on the electricity network. The batteries can charge when renewable electricity and network capacity are available and discharge during higher-demand periods. Germany’s rapid expansion of wind and solar has made storage increasingly valuable for balancing generation, managing congestion and improving utilisation of grid infrastructure. The six-project programme represents a substantive new storage deployment rather than an early-stage market ambition, adding 480 MWh to Germany’s rapidly growing utility-scale battery pipeline.
Revera Reaches Financial Close on 400 MW Hunterston Battery in Scotland
Revera Energy has completed financing for its 400 MW Hunterston battery energy storage project in Scotland, moving another very large UK storage development toward construction. Hunterston forms part of Revera’s Scottish battery portfolio and will provide flexible capacity in a power system where substantial wind generation frequently encounters transmission constraints. Financial close is a material advance beyond the commercial optimisation agreement previously announced for Revera’s separate Kincardine project. Large batteries can charge during periods of high renewable output and lower prices and discharge when the system requires additional electricity or balancing services. The 400 MW financing milestone substantially de-risks Hunterston and establishes the capital structure needed to move the project toward delivery.
Pacifico Wins Survey Licence for Up to 1.3 GW Vietnam Offshore Wind Project
US infrastructure developer Pacifico Energy has secured a sea-survey licence for the proposed Nam Trung Bo 3 offshore wind project of up to 1.3 GW off Vietnam’s Lam Dong province. The licence allows Pacifico to conduct the offshore surveys and technical studies required to define turbine locations, foundation requirements, seabed conditions and transmission infrastructure. Survey authorisation is an important development-stage milestone because reliable metocean and geotechnical information is essential before offshore wind projects can advance toward permitting, engineering and investment decisions. At up to 1,300 MW, Nam Trung Bo 3 could become a major component of Vietnam’s future offshore-wind industry as the country develops new electricity sources to meet rising demand.
