Infosys has strengthened its position as a sustainability leader in FY2026, reporting major progress across climate action, renewable energy, carbon neutrality, emissions reduction, green infrastructure, workforce transformation, and community impact initiatives. The company maintained carbon neutrality for the seventh consecutive year while accelerating its transition toward climate positivity through a strategy focused on renewable energy, carbon sequestration, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable business growth.

Infosys, which operates in 59 countries through 290 offices and employs 328,594 people, generated total revenue of ₹1,78,650 crore ($20.16 billion) during FY2026. Sustainability has become an increasingly important business driver, with sustainability-related offerings contributing 36 percent of revenue, supported by demand for ESG consulting, energy transition, decarbonization, sustainable finance, green IT, and smart building solutions.

Climate action remains a central pillar of the company’s ESG strategy. Infosys became carbon neutral in 2020, achieving the milestone 30 years ahead of the Paris Agreement timeline, and has now maintained carbon neutrality for seven consecutive years. The company is advancing from carbon neutrality to climate positivity through regenerative practices, nature-based solutions, and carbon capture initiatives designed to restore ecosystems and remove more carbon than it emits, Infosys Sustainability Report 2025 indicated.

Renewable energy adoption continues to expand across Infosys operations. During FY2026, 81.8 percent of the company’s India operations were powered by renewable energy. Infosys has installed 62.42 MWp of solar photovoltaic capacity through rooftop and ground-mounted systems across its campuses. Renewable energy sourcing is supported by onsite solar generation, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and green tariff procurement mechanisms, helping reduce dependence on fossil-fuel-based electricity.

Infosys has also made significant investments in sustainable infrastructure. Around 84 percent of its office space is certified to the highest green building standards. The company deploys advanced energy-efficient technologies including radiant cooling, radiant heating, intelligent controls, and climate-responsive building designs to reduce energy consumption and operational emissions. In addition, 100 percent of wastewater generated within Infosys campuses is recycled, demonstrating its commitment to resource efficiency and water stewardship.

The company continues to expand its emissions reduction efforts beyond direct operations. Infosys works closely with high-emission IT hardware suppliers to improve Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions measurement and reporting. Supplier engagement programs support emissions baseline development, verified Environmental Product Declarations, climate-performance monitoring, and value-chain decarbonization initiatives.

Carbon removal and offset projects remain an important component of Infosys’ climate strategy. More than 300,000 rural families continue to benefit from the company’s carbon offset programs. Infosys has planted approximately 14 million saplings through agroforestry initiatives that support long-term carbon sequestration and biodiversity restoration. Additional climate projects include community-focused clean cookstove programs in Rajasthan and biogas initiatives in Maharashtra and Karnataka, reducing greenhouse gas emissions while improving livelihoods.

Workforce development also plays a critical role in Infosys’ sustainability transformation. The company reported that 84 percent of its workforce has been enabled on artificial intelligence, strengthening capabilities that support digital transformation, operational efficiency, and sustainable business innovation. Infosys continues to integrate ESG priorities across governance, human capital development, climate action, responsible business practices, and community engagement.

Beyond environmental performance, Infosys reported strong business momentum in FY2026. Revenue increased 9.6 percent year-on-year to ₹1,78,650 crore, while net profit rose to ₹29,440 crore. Free cash flow reached ₹33,097 crore, representing 112.3 percent of net profit. Adjusted operating margin stood at 21 percent, return on equity reached 31.6 percent, and cash and investments totaled ₹43,075 crore. The company secured large deals worth $14.9 billion during the year and served 1,965 active clients, including 88 clients generating more than $50 million in annual revenue.

Infosys also received significant recognition for its ESG leadership. The company was named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere for the sixth consecutive year, became the Global Top Employer 2026 for the sixth consecutive year, and was recognized as the fastest-growing IT services brand globally for the sixth year in a row.

With 81.8 percent renewable energy usage, 62.42 MWp solar capacity, 84 percent green-certified office space, 100 percent wastewater recycling, carbon neutrality maintained for seven consecutive years, support for over 300,000 rural families, approximately 14 million saplings planted, 84 percent AI-enabled workforce, and sustainability-driven revenues accounting for 36 percent of total business, Infosys continues to strengthen its leadership in sustainable technology and climate-positive growth.
