Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) has identified potential to develop 400 megawatts of rooftop solar projects within its licenced areas.
The distribution company has identified both government and private buildings for development of the capacity over the next 5-6 years. TPDDL conducted a study based on whose findings it has reported the figures.
The discom already has 15 grid connected solar plants with total capacity of 1.65 MW on its premises. Â These include 12 standalone solar lighting systems of 1 KW capacity each fixed on RWA porta cabins under New Delhi Municipal Council.
TPDDL has also commissioned eight solar plants under ‘Demonstration Programme on Tail End Grid Connected Solar Power Plants’, an initiative of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the report says.
