Vestas wins 139 MW order to repower project owned by Vitol

Vestas has secured a substantial order worth 139 MW to repower a project owned by Vitol in Pennsylvania, USA.

The order entails the replacement of the current Senvion MM92-2.05 MW wind turbines at the site with 68 V110-2.0 MW wind turbines, operating at 2.05 MW.

The scope of the order encompasses the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines. Additionally, it includes a 20-year service agreement called Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000), which is designed to ensure optimal performance of the asset.

Andrew de Pass, Head of Renewable and Sustainable Energy at Vitol, affirmed Vitol’s commitment to investing in renewable energy projects across the United States. He emphasized the importance of optimizing performance through investment and improvement, while expressing contentment with the ongoing collaboration with Vestas on this repowering project.

Vestas said the delivery of the turbines is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2024, with commissioning expected to take place in the fourth quarter of the same year.
