Vestas Wind extends deal with Puget Sound Energy

Vestas Wind has extended the agreement with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) to provide service for the three wind farms located in Central Washington, Europe for another ten years.

The Whiskey Ridge, Wild Horse and Hopkins Ridge wind projects feature 214 V80-1.8 and 22 V80-2.0 MW wind turbines.

The extended deal tasks a time-based availability guarantee providing optimal turbine utilization and productivity.

The service contract also includes the Vestas Active Output Management (AOM) 4000.

Puget Sound Energy is one of the largest utility owners of wind power in the US.

Vestas had installed 11,879MW of turbines in the US, by the end of the third quarter of 2014.

In a similar development in China, Vestas will supply turbines for the 74MW Yunnan Jianshui Qikeshu wind farm.

The deal entered with a subsidiary of Hebei Construction includes supply and installation of 37 of the V100 2MW machines with a two-year service agreement.

Vestas and Hebei Construction have worked together on several projects in China.

Vestas has secured an agreement with First Reserve to supply wind turbines for the 298 MW Kingfisher Wind project in Oklahoma.

According to the agreement, Vestas will supply 149 V100-2.0 MW of wind turbines to First Reserve.

Once the construction will be completed by 2015, First Reserve will acquire the project from Apex Clean Energy.

Vestas has won a turbine supply deal for a 36 MW wind project in the Lodzkie region of Poland.

As per the terms of the deal, Vestas will be responsible for delivery, installation and commissioning of 12 of its V112 3 MW turbines.

According to a report released by American wind energy association, the industry has installed 3,597 MW capacity in the fourth quarter of 2014 in US, bringing the years total up to 4,850 MW, and total cumulative capacity up over 65 GW.
