German wind turbine maker Nordex and project partner H2air have jointly inaugurated the 75-megawatt Seine River Gauche Nord (SRN) wind farm in northern France.

Seenews.renewables reports that Nordex and H2air developed and installed the wind park in the department of Aube for KGAL Investment Management.

The facility comprises thirty N100/2500 turbines specifically designed not to interfere with operation of the military radar station of Prunay-Belleville close by.

SRN has been in operation since June and it generates about 183 GWh of electricity annually with a capacity factor of about 30 percent.

The estimated output of the project is adequate to meet the average annual power consumption of up to 50,000 homes.

France is targeting renewables share of 23 percent by 2020 and 32 percent by 2030.
