GEV Offshore recruits 150 for new Hessle international headquarters

GEV Offshore, the wind turbine blade maintenance firm, has plans to recruit 150 staff for their new East Yorkshire headquarters, reported Hull Daily Mail.

A deal for an office and warehouse unit in Priory Tec Park of Hessle has already been signed for this purpose.

The facility, opening this month will take care of administration and logistics aspect of the team. The numbers of technicians are expected to go up to 250 from 100 in the next two years. Rope access training to staff is a new facility offered at this company site.

David Fletcher, managing director, GEV Offshore said, “The company intends to make local recruitment for some vacancies .GEV Offshore is recruiting experienced technicians from the oil and gas and construction industries who are in search of fresh challenge in this sector. The teams will be managed from Hull together with a satellite office in Lowestoft.”

GEV Offshore chose Hull, because of the good access to the motorway network, reported the news agency.

With GEV Wind Power title, company has plans to get established in wind power sector. They will appoint 6-8 staff in the initial stage.

GEV Offshore will initiate a green energy infrastructure in Hull. Rix Sea Shuttle, which offers energy support vessels, apprentice training groups and membership organisations are already in service.

A 300 million euro investment in a carbon capture programme at Drax Power Station is another green energy mission to be initiated. A pipeline through East Yorkshire that reduces industry emissions and taxes will commence under this project.
