Gamesa to supply 290 MW wind turbines in Mexico and U.S

Gamesa, wind technology providers, has signed two orders to supply 290 MW in North America, 100 MW in Mexico and 190 MW in the United States.

In United States, Gamesa has reached an agreement with EDP Renováveis (EDPR) for the supply of 95 Gamesa’s G114-2.0 MW turbines to the Waverly wind farm in Coffey County, Kansas. The agreement is completed for the supply of up to 450 MW in the U.S. through 2016.

The turbines will be delivered in the third quarter of 2015 and the project is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of the year.

These 95 turbines will incorporate Gamesa’s MaxPower package of hardware and software modifications, with a power output from 2.0 MW up to 2.1 MW.

Gamesa has installed 4,000 MW of wind power and currently services 1,400 MW in US.

In Mexico, Gamesa has signed a contract for the supply of 100 MW of its turbine supply.
With this agreement, the company gets a market share of over 73percent in the country.

Under the terms of the contract signed in 2Q 2014, Gamesa will supply and install 50 G97-2.0 MW turbines at a wind farm located in central Mexico. The wind turbines are scheduled for delivery during the first quarter of 2015 and the wind farm is expected to be commissioned during the last.

Gamesa has installed 1,067 MW and services 873 MW in Mexico already. Gamesa has developed, built and commissioned close to 250 MW and it is building another 70 MW of wind farm in Mexico.
