Gamesa has sealed a deal to supply 92 MW of wind turbines for wind projects in China.
According to the two new contracts signed, Gamesa will supply 50 MW to Hebei Construction and Investment (HCIG) and another 42 MW to the Chinese wind farm developer UPC.
The agreement with HCIG will take care of supply, installation and commissioning of 25 of Gamesa’s G97-2.0 MW turbines, at the Nandianziliang wind complex located in the province of Shanxi, in northern China.
The delivery of turbines is scheduled for May 2015 and the plant will be operational by the third quarter of this year.
Since 2008, Gamesa has supplied 180 MW to Shijiazhuang-based HCIG.
Meanwhile, the contract with UPC includes the supply, installation and commissioning of 21 G97-2.0 MW turbines at the Huangyan wind farm in the province of Zhejiang, in eastern China.
The turbines are expected to be delivered by April 2015 and the project is expected to be fully commissioned by the third quarter of this year.
This is the first agreement by Hong Kong-based UPC with Gamesa. UPC has planned around 3GW of wind projects in the country.
In March 2014, Gamesa signed a 49.3MW contract with CGN Wind Energy in China for the supply of 25 G97-2.0 MW turbines for a wind farm being built in Shandong province.
In September 2014, Gamesa signed 48-MW supply agreement with China-based Everbright to install 24 units of the G97-2.0 MW at Changfangshan wind farm, located in the Shanxi province.
In 2014 alone, Gamesa won contracts for the supply of 450 MW in China.
