Boralex Europe, a subsidiary of Boralex has attained the Calmont 14 MW wind power project located in the Midi-Pyrénées province of France.
An investment of approx. €25 million is estimated from Boralex firm.
The construction of the wind farm will start during the first quarter of 2015. The project is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2015.
A PPA of 15-year power sales is contracted with EDF France.
By acquiring the Calmont wind power project, Boralex is stepping up the development in France, establishing its energy portfolio in the wind sector, said Patrick Lemaire, president and CEO, Boralex.
In a recent development, Boralex is establishing a 272 MW group of Seigneurie de Beaupre wind farms project in Quebec.
The wind farm has been already supplying power to the Quebec grid.
Additionally, a 68 MW second phase of the project will be commissioned later this year with another 25 MW community project expected in 2015.
