New Sky Energy, 212 Resources to develop industrial wastewater treatment solutions

Greentech Lead U.S: New Sky Energy of Boulder, Colo., has
partnered with 212 Resources of Houston, Texas, to offer a profitable and
revolutionary new method to treat wastewater from industry and oil and gas
operations.

The companies expect to launch their first joint project
in December 2012.

The method will use 212’s advanced water treatment
technologies and New Sky’s clean chemical manufacturing to profitably convert
produced water from oil and gas operations and industry into fresh water and
valuable chemicals.

By converting waste streams into fresh water and clean
chemicals, the New Sky-212 treatment process minimizes brine disposal and
generates significant savings on costs of hydrochloric acid, bleach and water
softening agents.

In a typical oil and gas field, the New Sky-212 process
is projected to save 45-60 percent in chemical supply and brine disposal costs,
while generating fresh water, minimizing overall environmental impact and
reducing transportation costs.

“Converting wastewater into clean chemicals and fresh
water is a kind of ‘Holy Grail’ for the water industry — a smart, profitable
approach to eliminating industrial and petroleum wastewater,” said said
New Sky Energy CEO Deane Little.

“The 212-New Sky collaboration represents a solid,
technology-based approach to providing an economical ‘cradle to grave’ solution
to the water challenges facing oil and gas operations,” said 212 CEO Stephen E.
Hester. “We are looking forward to combining resources with New Sky to
implement the first, full scale operation to address this market.”
