Yingli Green to supply solar modules to Gestamp Solar

Yingli Green Energy Spain has signed a 31.6 MW supply agreement with Gestamp Solar, a Spanish PV systems operator for a solar power plant in Daigo, Japan.

According to the agreement, Yingli Green Energy will deliver 125,000 multi-cyrstalline YGE 60 Cell Series modules to Gestamp during the period October 2014 – February 2014.

The plant is expected to generate approx. 32.730 GW of electricity annually.

Besides, the plant expects utility grid interconnection by the second quarter of 2015.

This is the first solar project developed by Gestamp in Japan.

As a largest single solar project to secure non-recourse financing in Japan, Gestamp is anticipating more projects on a similar scale in future, said, Jorge Barredo, CEO, Gestamp Solar.

Yingli’s deliveries to Japan increased by more than 50 percent in the first quarter of 2014 as compared to the fourth quarter 2013.

In 2012, Gestamp built a 20 MW plant in Moquegua of Peru and Yingli was the sole PV module supplier.
