Western Wind Acheives TSX Venture Top 50 Again for 2012

Western Wind Energy, a vertically
integrated renewable energy production company, announced that it has achieved
3rd position in TSX Venture Exchange’s 2012 TSX Venture Top 50
list. 

The 2012 TSX Venture 50 is a ranking of strong performers
on TSX Venture Exchange. It is comprised of ten companies from each of the following
five sectors: Mining, Oil & Gas, Diversified Industries, Clean Technology
and Technology & Life Sciences. Western Wind ranked 3rd from the top
in clean tech sector.

The companies were ranked based on the following criteria
– with equal weighting assigned to each: market capitalization growth, share
price appreciation, trading volume and analyst coverage.

“The 2012 TSX Venture 50 is made up of listed
companies that have stood out and excelled. We are pleased to recognize these
companies and wish each of them continued growth and success,” said John
McCoach, president, TSX Venture Exchange.  

Western Wind owns substantial additional development
assets for both solar and wind energy in California,Arizona, Ontario,
Canada and in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Recently, Western Wind announced the erection of
the last and final turbine at its Windstar Project, Tehachapi, California,
bringing the total installed capacity to the 120 Megawatt design capacity.
