Spire Corporation, a global solar company providing capital equipment and turn-key manufacturing lines to produce photovoltaic (PV) modules, has installed Spire’s turn-key module manufacturing line in Eastern Europe.

The Spire module line, the first of its kind in this region, will be used to produce PV modules for the local regional market. The first production modules are expected to be delivered by year-end.

Spire Corporation also provides engineering, procurement and construction integration services for solar systems and optoelectronics thin film services. Under this contract, Spire will provide on-going technical support for the training and the production ramp up of the line.

The installed capacity is expected to support large utility-scale installations going forward in 2014 and beyond.

“There is a great deal of demand for  solar in this region and Spire is pleased to be working with a local partner on their entry into the solar market,” said Roger G. Little, chairman and CEO.

“We expect this region to continue growing and anticipate that this is the first of many regional opportunities for Spire, which addresses the desires for local manufacturing and content requirements.”
