Haryana government has implemented an action plan under the energy conversion program to equip buildings with solar power energy under suitable enforcement mechanism.
In a statement, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, chief minister, Haryana, said by making solar power energy mandatory for buildings, an annual savings of 200 MW power can be expected. An additional 151 crore on coal and 16.60 lakhs kiloliters of water will also be saved. Carbon emission can be reduced considerably by three lakh MTs in a year.
For a plot size of 500 square yards and above, a minimum of one KWp or five percent of connect load is mandatory for the solar power installation. After availing a central financial assistance (CFA) of 30 percent, each user will have to spend Rs. 52, 500 for a primary installation.
In the case of industrial establishments and big commercial buildings where the connected load usually is 50-1000 KW, a minimum of 10kWp or five percent of load is necessary. This may amount up to five lakh for primary installation after availing 30 percent CFA. For organizations where more than 1000 KW load is connected the user share may add up to 22-25 lakhs for installing a 50 KWp solar power plant.
In the case of educational institutions and universities having a connected load of 30 KW or above, mandatory solar power installation of five KWp or five percent of connected load whichever is higher should be done.
For government buildings and institutions equipped with a 30KW connection, solar power installation of two KWp is made mandatory.
A minimum of ten KWp solar power installations is made mandatory for new housing societies and buildings with a user share of five lakh after availing CFA discount. If the plot area is more than one acre mandatory capacity will escalate up to 20 KWp.
The press release recommends 50 KWp or three percent of connected load solar power installation mandatory for irrigation departments employing 100 KW and above. Chief Secretary of the Haryana government will monitor a State Level Monitoring Committee constituted to oversee the implementation of this program.
