Risen Energy wins PV deal in Ukraine

Risen Energy, a PV module producer, announced the signing of a 323MW PV module supply contract with DTEK Renewables for a project in Ukraine.

China-based Risen Energy will provide 72-cell 370W PERC monocrystalline modules for the 240 MWac (323 MWdc) PV Pokrovskaya SPP project.

The largest solar power station in Ukraine will be located in Dnipropetrovsk region in central Ukraine. The facility will address the electricity needs of more than 200,000 households in Ukraine.

Ukraine government aims at increasing share of renewable energy in energy consumption to 11 percent by 2020 and 25 percent by 2035.

The collaboration with DTEK Renewables will become a major step in the company’s further expansion into Ukraine, said Risen Energy sales vice president Zhao Zelin.

Big projects like Pokrovskaya SPP constitute a significant milestone to achieve the objectives of Ukraine’s energy strategy, said DTEK Renewables CEO Philipp Leckebusch.
