Rays Power Infra, a solar energy firm in India, announced the commissioning of its 78 MW solar PV projects in Tehsil-Bhagwanpur in the Roorkee District of Uttarakhand.

The 78 MW project comes under Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency’s (UREDA) competitive bidding for 2015-16. It will supply energy to the power hungry industrial areas of Bhagwanpur and Roorkee, the company said.

Rays Power has involved the participation of local farmers in this project. More than 1000 farmers will acquire direct and indirect benefits from this project by receiving a constant monthly source of income for more than 25 years.

In the state of Uttarakhand, RaysPower owns a 40 percent market share which they plan to increase to above 80 percent by end of current financial year.

Kunwar Rajeev Singh, chief operating officer, Rays Power Infra, said, “We have created a land bank of more than 2000 acres, where we can implement more than 500 MW and single handedly accomplished 100 percent RPO of the state for the next five years. This project is a minor contribution to the state and to the nation for a greener and brighter tomorrow.”
