Maxeon Solar expands manufacturing plant in Mexico

Maxeon Solar Technologies has hosted a ribbon cutting event in its expanded solar panel manufacturing plant in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico – increasing production capacity to 1.8 GW per year.

Maxeon has already invested around $70 million for the expansion and renovation of the Mexicali plant, increasing its total investment in solar manufacturing in the country to $260 million. Maxeon Solar produces its shingled-cell Performance line solar panels in Mexicali.

Maxeon also owns a second manufacturing site in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. The two plants have a combined production capacity of more than 2.5 GW per year. Maxeon has more than 2,000 employees in Mexico.
