LDK Solar Hi-Tech jointly with Tammy Fu and Eleanor Fisher has signed a new module supply agreement with Shanghai SNERDI Engineering owned by State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC).
According to the agreement, LDK Solar will provide modules totaling 60.5 megawatts to SNPTC. Deliveries to the site in Xinjiang region have already begun.
Through provision of these modules to SNPTC for their project in Xinjiang, company continues to demonstrate the commitment to customers not only in the international markets but also in China’s home market, stated Xingxue Tong, interim chairman, president, CEO, LDK Solar.
China has installed 12 gigawatts of solar power in 2013 – a 232 percent increase over 2012. Of the total installed solar generation capacity of 140 GW worldwide last year, China contributed about 20 GW.
The National Development and Reform Commission set a goal of installing 100 GW of solar capacity by 2020 in China. That will require an aggressive installation rate of more than 10 GW per year.
In addition, from 2009-12, China undertook the large-scale Golden Sun project, whose failures in quality are influencing the refocus to DPV today.
