JinkoSolar to supply 34MW modules for 4 Antelope Valley solar projects

JinkoSolar has announced that it supplied 34 MW of solar modules to sPower for four solar power projects in Antelope Valley, California.

According to the agreement, JinkoSolar supplied 115,000 of its 305W high efficiency solar PV modules to sPower for the 34 MW solar plant which being constructed in four independent projects at Lancaster and Victorville, California.

Once the commercial operation begins, the sPower facility will generate enough energy to power 4,110 homes, reducing carbon emission by 45,050 metric tons every year.

sPower has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement in with Southern California Edison (SCE) to purchase 34 MW of clean energy output from the facilities. Swinerton Builders were responsible for the EPC for the project and commercial operation is expected to begin by November 30, 2014.

This is a significant milestone for sPower, bringing online the first major group of projects after company’s merging with Fir Tree-backed developer Silverado Power earlier this year, stated, Ryan Creamer, CEO, sPower.

Two days ago, JinkoSolar has signed a PV project development agreement with the government of Shicheng County of Jiangxi Province to develop 200MW PV power plant, with an investment amount of RMB1.6 billion.

The PV power plant will be constructed in four phases in four years in Zhuokeng and Fengshan villages, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The first phase of construction will begin in early 2015.
