JinkoSolar donation powers projects in Native American communities
JinkoSolar, a provider of PV modules, and Indigenized Energy, a native-led provider helping tribes build solar systems, announced the donation of over 2,000 solar modules. These will provide over 800kW of energy to Tribal Nations in the Midwes.
The first tribes to benefit from the donation are the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and Chippewa Cree Tribe in Montana and the Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. These solar installations are connected to Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency funding, and include both residential and commercial.
Commercial Solar Panel Recycling wins deal from NJDEP
Commercial Solar Panel Recycling, a provider of solar panel recycling solutions, has received a first permit for solar panel recycling from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
This permit allows the company to process end-of-life solar panels, recovering materials like glass, aluminum, and silicon. Recycling these materials will help reduce waste, conserve resources, and support a circular economy.
Matrix Renewables secures financing for Stillhouse Solar project
Matrix Renewables, a provider of renewable energy platforms backed by TPG Rise, announced it has secured financing for the 210MWac Stillhouse Solar project. Acadia Infrastructure provided preferred equity and helped facilitate Microsoft’s purchase of environmental attribute certificates. MUFG, HSBC, ING, and BBVA provide 376 million in debt financing.
The project has partnered with Sustain Our Future Foundation, contributing nearly $3 million to support the community. Stillhouse Solar will power 48,862 homes, reduce CO2 emissions by 185,598 metric tons each year, and benefit the local community. Construction is progressing with plans to start operations in Q3 2025.
