Jinko Solar (Jiangxi Jinko) has entered into a project investment agreement with Qinghai Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Xining Municipal Government and Xining Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee for a joint monocrystalline silicon pull rod project.
Jiangxi Jinko in a news statement said that it plans to build monocrystalline silicon pull rod production lines with a production capacity of 30 GW in Xining city, Qinghai province. Jiangxi Jinko said the investment is approximately RMB10 billion.
Jiangxi Jinko will build the project in two phases. Jiangxi Jinko plans to build the production line with an annual production capacity of 20 GW, with an investment of RMB7 billion in the first phase. Jiangxi Jinko will start the construction of the first phase in April 2022.
Jiangxi Jinko plans to construct the production line with an annual production capacity of 10 GW in 2023 to 2024 with an investment of RMB3 billion in the second phase.
“Developing our production of monocrystalline silicon pull rods will strengthen our in-house production capabilities,” Kangping Chen, CEO of Jiangxi Jinko, said in a news statement.
JinkoSolar currently owns approximately 58.62 percent equity interest in Jiangxi Jinko.
