Solar power products manufacturer JA Solar Holdings Company Limited is supplying modules for generation of 35.1 MW to Guatemala solar farm.
This is the second phase of supplies by the company, according to a statement.
A contract for phase II of the project was signed between the two parties after JA delivered modules for 59.7MW in the first phase last year. The Guatemala project is the largest solar farm in Central America and the second largest in the Latin America.
Jian Xie, president of JA Solar, said: “Solar panels adequate to cover 300 football fields not only provides clean power to the people of Central America, but also opens a window for us in the local market. It is a new milestone in our efforts to expand globally into new markets.”
