JA Solar, manufacturers of efficient solar power products, will begin mass production of PERCIUM solar cells from next week.

The PERCIUM solar power cell is the first P-TYPE cell that surpasses a 20 percent efficiency conversion in industry with an average output of 20.4 percent. The 6x 10 PERCIUM cells modules with an average power rating of 285W will start mass production from next week onwards.

The module is expected to reach an average power rating of 290W by the end of 2014.

Earlier this year, JA Solar introduced 6×10 PERCIUM cells module in various countries like UK, China, Germany Israel and Japan. With their high reliability and high conversion capacity JA Solar modules received great market demand, the company said.

JA Solar completed mass production of solar modules within a record time to meet increasing customer demand. By October of this year the company is planning to start four solar cells module production unit, increasing up to eight units by 2015. By the end of this year capacity of cell modules  is expected to reach 170MW and by next year it will be 350MW.

Yong Liu, chief operation officer, JA Solar, said, “High efficiency of these cell modules accounts for low cost per Watt which in turn causes low installation and operational cost. Passivated backside and local BSF technology ensures low -light performance of the modules.”
