Greentech Lead India: The State of Gujarat has commissioned 852.31 MW of solar plants as on 31 March 2013 out of a total allotted capacity of 872.5.

Adani Enterprises, also a leading thermal power producer, is leading in solar energy installation in Gujarat. The company has commissioned solar energy projects of 40.11 MW in Kutch, surpassing its allotted capacity of 40 MW.

The Kutch plant is the country’s largest solar plant, according to Adani. The solar power plant is using solar PV technology and has over 400,000 solar PV modules mounted on 21,600 structures, which are erected on 130,000 foundations.

The company plans to expand the capacity of this plant to 100 MW, the company said earlier last year.

Other leading solar energy producers in Gujarat, including Alex Astral Power, Chattel Constructions, Ganges Green Energy, GMR Gujarat Solar Power, Louroux Bio Energies, Responsive sutip, Roha Dyechem, Sandland Real Estate, SEI Solar Power Gujarat, Sun Clean Renewable Power, TATA Power Renewable Energy, Ujjawala Power, and Visual Percept Solar Projects, each have installed 25 MW of solar energy.

Overall there are 77 solar energy producers that contributed for the 852.31 MW capacity in the state of Gujarat.

Recently JinkoSolar partnered with Sunkon Energy in Ghespur, Gujarat, India, to deliver a photovoltaic solar project of total 5 MW in India. It is expected to produce 8,030 MWH of electricity per year and reduce CO2 emission by 7,882 tons.

With grid parity as an ultimate goal, SunKon Energy will play an aggressive role in roll-out of solar energy infrastructure in India, the company said.
