DuPont has added two latest products, Solamet PV18H and PV18J PV metallization pastes to its range, used for crystalline silicon solar cells.

These new metallization pastes provide solar cell manufacturers with improved efficiency and profitability with minimum material requirement, DuPont said.

The Solamet PV18x series products boost the power output of solar panels by improving their conversion efficiency.

DuPont claims that Solamet photovoltaic metallization paste technology has enhanced solar cell efficiency over the past 12 years.

Tellurium technology, with an exclusive DuPont license, is the key element in capturing energy permitting contact to enhanced lightly doped emitters.

The products demonstrate a range of technical properties that meet customers’ manufacturing process requirements. The product, on reaching global customers, is giving positive feedbacks, said, Peter Brenner, global photovoltaic marketing manager, DuPont Microcircuit Materials.

Compared to standard pastes available in industry, these products can enhance conversion efficiency by a 0.15 percent additionally, permitting fine line printability down to 35 microns. Besides, they consume only 30 percent less material, making significant savings for manufacturers.

The PV18H model permits contact resistance to superior lightly doped emitters on mono-crystalline solar cells to ensure power output. They show great adhesive property even with thinner bus bars providing better solder ability and a wide solder temperature window.
