DNV GL, the energy advisory and testing authority, announced the launch of service addition to its PV module Product Qualification Program: Mounting System Installation Efficiency Testing.
DNV GL has delivered its first standardized product to a mounting system provider. The testing is the first of its kind offered for solar mounting system installation evaluation.

Ray Hudson, line reader, DNV GL global solar service, said, “The solar customers demanded for this innovative step and provide with standardized testing. This will help customers to evaluate their decisions for racking installations.”

This new service will cater to all kinds of service providers associated with solar panel installation helping to provide accurate labor projections.

Jenya Meydbray, head, qualification and component testing, DNV GL, said, “A standardized methodology is put into service with an expanded testing site at the facility that enables the company to conduct both commercial and residential testing. This gives mounting system vendors and downstream partners a chance for detailed comparison.”

The trained PV technicians perform an installation at the DNV GL test facility, which is captured on cameras for review. Expert DNV GL engineers assess installation times, efficiencies and areas for improvement.
