Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) and Affordable Solar Chippewa Valley are teaming up to host Solar Power Wisconsin, an affordable energy conference, on 8th November, reports The Dunn County News.
This conference will be a great opportunity for businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals to learn how they can affordably harness the power of solar energy, said, Hanna Terwilliger, conference spokesperson.
It will be attended by representatives from local utilities, solar installers, and solar organizations leading panels on paying for solar, energy conservation, and more, said Terwilliger.
Solar is an affordable option for everyone. This is a great educational opportunity for everyone, beginner or expert, to learn more about solar energy, commented, Terwilliger.
The event will discuss on various topics relating to solar electric energy. Tyler Huebner, executive director of RENEW Wisconsin, will give the keynote address, Solar Power for a Stronger Wisconsin.
This conference is an important opportunity to re-start the conversation on how to move solar power forward in Wisconsin. Around $12 billion each year is sent out of the state for energy, and states like Minnesota, South Carolina, Georgia, and Vermont have realized the job-creation potential of this growing industry, Huebner said.
Education, knowledge, and motivation are key elements to propelling solar forward and this conference is a welcome addition, added Huebner.
Eau Claire Energy Cooperative is moving forward with a community solar project, noted, Lynn Thompson, president, CEO, Eau Claire Energy Cooperative, utility panel speaker.
