BayWa r.e., a global leader in clean energy solutions, has entered into a partnership with Meyer Burger Technology, a solar technology company, to secure a supply of solar panels from Meyer Burger’s production site in Goodyear, Arizona.

This collaboration forms one of the two agreements announced by Meyer Burger in March 2023, resulting in an increased annual module production capacity in Goodyear from around 1.6 GW to approximately 2 GW.

As part of the partnership, BayWa r.e. has committed to procuring 1.25 GW of modules over a period of five years, starting from 2025 and lasting until 2029, from Meyer Burger’s facility in Goodyear, Arizona. This commitment ensures a reliable and continuous supply of domestically produced solar panels to support BayWa r.e.’s extensive solar projects pipeline, which exceeds 9 GW throughout the United States.

Meyer Burger is currently in the final stages of constructing a state-of-the-art 2 GW production site for high-performance solar modules in Goodyear, Arizona. This facility not only contributes to the growth and expansion of the U.S. solar industry but also generates over 500 skilled manufacturing jobs, boosting the local economy and supporting the green energy transition.

With the recent enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act, BayWa r.e. and Meyer Burger are strongly committed to fostering long-term domestic procurement commitments through strategic partnerships. By aligning their efforts, they aim to advance sustainable development and strengthen the domestic solar industry in the United States.
