ACME Solar commences operation of 25 MW solar project in Madhya Pradesh

ACME Solar, a leading solar energy producer in India, has started power generation from the 25 MW solar project in Khilchipur, Madhya Pradesh.

The company, a joint venture between ACME Cleantech, EDF Energies Nouvelles and EREN, Luxembourg, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the state government.

The Khilchipur plant takes the total operational capacity of ACME Solar to 42.5 MW.

The joint venture has an existing portfolio of 67.5 MW and is on way to have solar power generation portfolio of 1000 MW by the year 2017.

The company has also set a target of generating 22,000 MW solar power by year 2022.

According to ACME Solar, the Khilchipur plant was commissioned in record time of 150 days since the laying of foundation stone.

“With partners like EDF EN and EREN, ACME Solar will be at the forefront of serving the nation through higher uptake of renewable energy in the country,” said ACME Group chairman Manoj Kumar Upadhyay.

ACME Solar has won the bid for JNNSM Phase II solar projects in India. The company has won the bid for 80 MW of solar PV power projects. The bid was carried out by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

ACME Solar also has plants in Gujarat and Rajasthan. It is in the process of commissioning 25 MW project in Odisha.
