Landis+Gyr have achieved Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification for its North American Gridstream deployment project team and program managers.

PMP certification is provided by the Project Management Institute.

Landis+Gyr’s team bring about advanced metering and smart grid technology solutions using an action plan and documented processes.

According to new Landis+Gyr initiative, PMP certification is necessary for new hires within their first six months at the company.

The project team was integral to many successful projects at utility. It is easy to evaluate cost and technology but difficult to assess effective project management and post-deployment customer support, said, Bruce Lovelin, chief engineer, Central Lincoln PUD.

The PMP certification validates the experience and know-how presented to each of the customers. With the help of best practices and consistency in processes it is ensured that all program managers lead projects with a defined scope and position utilities to achieve business case objectives, said, Tim Weidenbach, senior vice president, Customer Delivery, Landis+Gyr.

Utilities rely on smart grid solutions for integration of renewables and grid automation, which need project managers who can lead their teams to success, said Chris Testa, director, Systems Deployment, Landis+Gyr.

It is authoritative we provide a committed professional to lead all resources and make sure milestones are met and delivery is on-target, added Testa.

Landis+Gyr provides energy delivery and resource management technologies including electric, water and gas utilities.

They have implemented some advanced metering and grid automation deployments in North America and around the world.
