Odyssey Energy Solutions Raises $74 Million to Unlock 1.5 GW of Distributed Renewable Projects

Odyssey Energy Solutions has raised $74 million, comprising $27 million in equity and $47 million in debt, to expand financing and procurement for distributed renewable-energy projects across Asia, Africa and Latin America. New equity investors include Broadscale Group, FMO and Al Mada Ventures, alongside Union Square Ventures, Equal Ventures, Abstract Ventures, Twelve Below, FJ Labs, MCJ and Transition Ventures. Debt providers include British International Investment, BIO and other development-finance vehicles. Odyssey connects more than 6,000 solar installers and EPC companies across 50+ countries, facilitating access to $3.6 billion of capital. Its procurement platform has already unlocked 1.5 GW of projects, while the company’s India business has expanded rapidly as solar and storage demand increases.

Gridsight Raises $26 Million to Unlock 600 MW of Additional Solar Grid Capacity

Gridsight has secured a $26 million Series B led by Insight Partners, with participation from Galvanize and existing investors Airtree, Energy Transition Ventures and Aera VC. The funding will accelerate US deployment of Gridsight’s AI-powered electricity-grid capacity platform while supporting continued expansion in Australia. Gridsight already works with Xcel Energy, United Illuminating and Endeavour Energy. In Australia, Endeavour Energy used the platform to double household static solar export limits from 5 kW to 10 kW, combined with dynamic grid controls. The programme is expected to unlock more than 600 MW of additional solar capacity and create over $100 million of customer value. Gridsight estimates as much as three-quarters of grid capacity can remain unused on average, creating opportunities for software-driven optimization.

Ascend Analytics Battery Platform Passes 5.2 GW Across ERCOT, CAISO and PJM Ascend Analytics’ SmartBidder platform now manages more than 5.2 GW of operating battery energy-storage capacity across major US wholesale electricity markets. The portfolio includes approximately 4 GW in ERCOT, 1 GW in CAISO and 200 MW in PJM, covering more than 30 customers. Individual projects range from 3 MW to 300 MW, with storage durations spanning one to eight hours and configurations including standalone batteries, solar-plus-storage and wind-plus-storage. Ascend crossed the 5 GW milestone during Q2 2026 after onboarding assets for California Community Power and San Diego Community Power. SmartBidder also manages one of the first eight-hour batteries operating in CAISO and one of the earliest four-hour storage assets in ERCOT, demonstrating the growing commercial role of long-duration BESS.
