Avis buys recycling equipment firm IPS Balers

Avis Industrial has acquired IPS, the recycling equipment firm which produces ferrous, non-ferrous, plastics and mixed fiber balers.

The acquisition represents the third baler company for Avis, joining American Baler and Harris Waste Management.

Avis brands shears, shredders, and compactors in recycling industry and owns ten subsidiaries throughout North America.

As part of the takeover, Avis has designated CP as a strategic global distributor, authorizing them to sell all of the Avis lines of balers.

Earlier, IPS was owned by the CP Group, manufacturer of material recovery facilities (MRF).

IPS machines offer exclusive features like pre-compression lids, hinge sides and bale-tie two rams, which allow Avis to serve customers with competent products in recycling industry, said Leland Boren, chairman and CEO, Avis.

“As a distributor for Avis, we will be able to offer our customers even more baler solutions. CP looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial business relationship with Avis,” says Terry Schneider, president, CP.

On the other hand, Avis will gain direct access to CP sorting systems, including disc screens and optical sorters, among other MRF components.
