Nayax intros State-of-Charge feature for EV Kiosk
Nayax has introduced a State-of-Charge feature for its EV Kiosk, enhancing convenience and security for EV charging. The update separates card-present payments from mobile access to charging details, allowing drivers to pay securely at the kiosk and view session information on their smartphones by scanning a QR code — without needing an app or personal data. This solution addresses concerns about multiple charging apps and payment security. Additionally, the EV Kiosk offers customizable digital e-receipts, enabling merchants to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement through promotions, social media links, and advertisements.
Zelestra secures contract from India’s SJVN
Zelestra, a global renewable energy company, has secured a Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) contract from India’s SJVN to develop a 500 MW hybrid megaproject in Solapur, Maharashtra. The project, set to launch in 2027, will integrate 250 MW of solar, 180 MW of wind, and a 90 MWh battery energy storage system to provide 24/7 green energy, including peak-hour supply. Expected to generate over 815 GWh annually, it will power 225,000 households and cut 0.7 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. Zelestra’s India portfolio now exceeds 5.4 GW across seven states.
Aramco launches Saudi Arabia’s first CO2 Direct Air Capture (DAC) test unit
Aramco has launched Saudi Arabia’s first CO2 Direct Air Capture (DAC) test unit, capable of removing 12 tons of carbon dioxide annually. Developed with Siemens Energy, the pilot plant will test next-generation CO2 capture materials in the region’s climate while exploring cost reductions to accelerate DAC deployment. Aramco aims to scale up the technology for potential large-scale facilities. This initiative aligns with the company’s goal of achieving net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2050, utilizing carbon capture to support sustainable fuel and chemical production.
Itron Partners with NVIDIA to Advance AI-Powered Grid Solutions
Itron has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate AI adoption at the grid edge for utilities. By integrating NVIDIA’s AI solutions with Itron’s 13 million distributed intelligence-enabled endpoints, utilities can capture real-time data to enhance grid resilience, disaster management, consumer engagement, and operational efficiency. This partnership aims to transform how utilities address key challenges and optimize energy distribution.
Coreshell Raises $24 mn for Battery Production
Coreshell has raised $24 million to expand production of lithium-ion battery cells using U.S.-sourced metallurgical silicon. Investors include Ferroglobe PLC and Zeon Ventures. The funds will help Coreshell increase production at its 4 MWh facility in San Leandro, California, and prepare for a larger 100 MWh facility. Coreshell’s batteries provide 30-40 percent more energy, over 1,000 charge cycles, and fast charging from 10-80 percent in under 15 minutes. More test results will be shared at the 2025 International Battery Seminar.
SolarBank Plans 4.3 MW Solar Project in New York
SolarBank is developing a 4.3 MW solar project, the Glen Rd project, in upstate New York. The company has secured a lease and is working on approvals. The project will qualify for incentives under New York’s NY-Sun Program. It will be a community solar system, providing energy to local residents who subscribe to it. Solar Simplified will manage customer enrollment and billing, while SolarBank will focus on project development.
LONGi and BNZ Partner for 336MW Solar Projects
LONGi, a solar panel manufacturer, has signed an agreement with BNZ, a renewable energy company, for 336MW of solar projects in Southern Europe.BNZ operates 500MW of solar projects in Spain, Portugal, and Italy, some using LONGi panels. Under the new deal, BNZ will use LONGi’s Hi-MO 7 and Hi-MO 9 panels in its 2025 projects. LONGi Europe President Francois Cui said the partnership will help expand the European solar market.
